Pointless Nonsense

americancrimeAmerican Crime is ABC’s new heavily promoted show from the writer of 12 Years a Slave (and Undercover Brother!). It stars Timothy Hutton and Felicity Huffman (if they dated, would their portmanteau be Hufton or Huttman?) as divorced parents of a murdered kid.

It’s not so much a mystery who did it, the cops make arrests by the end of the pilot. I suspect the focus will be on how the justice system works (or doesn’t). With a lot of human drama mixed in. Aceveda from The Shield, Penelope Ann Miller, and the big guy from Deadwood who was also the mentally challenged brother in There’s Something About Mary play supporting roles.

The pilot is pretty decent, but more than that I’m interested to see where it goes from here. Mostly because I think about that stuff a lot. Who knows if it’ll be about that at all, really, but I’m fine watching a few more episodes to find out.
