Pointless Nonsense

blacklistThe Blacklist looked from the trailer like Silence of the Lambs, but with terrorism instead of cannibalism, with James Spader as the Hannibal Lector analogue, and the lovely Megan Boone as the FBI agent who’s getting him to talk. But it’s a little more complicated than that. It actually reminds me vaguely of the Alias pilot. The story is very plot-twisty, you can’t exactly tell what Spader’s character is up to, and promises more down the line (there’s like an 80% chance Boone’s character turns out to be his daughter). It’s not as good as Alias‘s (one of the best ever) pilot, but it’s still pretty damn good. Just James Spader being a manipulative villain alone makes it worth watching, and I’m looking forward to more.
