Pointless Nonsense

moonrise-kingdomMoonrise Kingdom is an exercise in quirkiness and extra pauses and giving kids serious adult-sounding dialogue and filming things at like right angles. I find myself less and less interested in Wes Anderson as he is in some sort of downward spiral of hipsterness. Or whatever it would be called. In any case, I basically find each movie of his less appealing than the one before.

Also, a decent amount of the movie is a 14-ish year old actress in her underwear. Which is probably fine if you saw it in the theater, because it’s like “hey, we’re all adults here, enjoying an artistic type film.” But I think, in hindsight, that a grown single man should not be watching it by himself at home like I did.
