Pointless Nonsense

Upon learning that I find the idea of planning a heist cool but have no interest in stealing anything, a coworker suggested the 2003 movie Foolproof, starring Ryan Reynolds as an insurance guy who plays a game with his friends where they create intricate robbery plans with no intention of carrying them out, which is all fun and games until a real criminal gets his hands on the plans and frames them for a jewelry heist. It’s a clever concept and the movie’s perfectly enjoyable. The supporting cast is a little weak and the dialogue could’ve been a little better, but my only real complaint is with the music. A plot twit-y heist movie from 2003 already faces obvious comparison to 2001’s Ocean’s 11, but using music that sounds like it came straight from the O11 score is just a constant reminder of a similar and superior movie.
