Cursed Treasure: Don’t Touch My Gems, as was mentioned to me a while ago but I forgot about it until I saw it linked elsewhere, is sort of a sequel but more of an upgrade to the original. The game could really use keyboard shortcuts for the spells, especially since casting the meteor spell in rapid succession is necessary for my goal of passing every level flawlessly (I can’t do the last 2, the bosses of the type that are unhittable for some number of seconds are nearly impossible to kill before they reach your gems). Anyway, it’s still addictive/fun.
I am confused… The link you have is the original game (it’s the same link that’s on the blogpost from last year), and the sequel is…

And upgrade? It’s the exact same mechanics, just extra boards… It’s more like a level pack, but without the ability to start with all the upgrades you got in the previous game.
Also, there are keyboard shortcuts for the spells… For the spells it’s Q,W,E (for building 1,2,3)… If you mouse over them, the keyboard shortcut is mentioned in the tooltip. Everything has a keyboard shortcut.
Huh. It actually is different from the original as I remembered it, the last upgrades on some of the towers are different. It says version 1.05, so I’m guessing that was just the small change. Now I have to waste time playing the level pack.
I can’t do the flawless part well, because I still haven’t found the right balance between expansion and upgrade. My personal philosophy to the game is to focus on expanding first, then upgrading later. This has allowed me to pass every stage in the first try, except the last stage. The last one crushed me though, because I think I did not accumulate enough experience, hence skill points, because I did not do the earlier stages well enough.
This one is also a good one:

It went much faster than the cursed one in terms of completing 100% of the stuff, and it is a slightly entertaining variance of the tower defense concept.
