Pointless Nonsense

Whites is a BBC comedy that’s just starting to stream on Hulu (the first episode appeared Wednesday, and they’re adding new ones weekly). It stars Alan Davies of both QI and Jonathan Creek, so I knew I would try it out as soon as I saw the first ad on Hulu, and it’s pretty good. Davies plays a chef who seems to love meat and hate vegetarians (he considers titling his book “Entrails and Tribulations” or “Roland’s Offaly Big Adventure”). A restaurant kitchen is a great setting for a TV comedy with the hectic nature of that environment making everything seem full of action while the characters can just stand around and have conversation (see also Kitchen Confidential). It’s probably only going to be a six episode run, but it’ll be a nice addition for summer viewing.
