Pointless Nonsense

The Taking of Pelham 123 is a remake of a movie I’ve never seen and stars John Travolta, two things that would normally make me not see it. But through queue neglect, it showed up in the mail. I did not know it was written by Brian Helgeland or co-starred Luis Guzman, so those were nice bonuses. It was, however, directed by Tony Scott, so that meant busy transitional shots full of weird noises and camera effects that get annoying. The plot was typical for these sorts of things, hostages, negotiating over the phone, an unanticipated ulterior motive by the hostage takers. John Travolta actually wasn’t that annoying, so overall it wasn’t that bad. Not very good either. But check out that sweet orange and blue poster.
